Knock out the opportunity that knocks.

A class a day sends a doctorate your way.

There is no gender in member.

Opportunity knocks; perspicuity answers.

After the old have abandoned their egos, the young may abandon their obscurities.

As the flower blooms amid toxic waste, so opportunity springs from disaster.

Every new room is entered through a door someone once slammed shut.

Opportunity is immunity against mutiny.

No opportunity, zero community.

When we refuse women leadership, we limit by half what the world may accomplish.

What we can’t imagine we can’t do.

The world’s best leaders are now training the world’s future leaders.

I always make it my rule to search out the deep meaning of life, after breakfast.

Life is a ditch or a steep pitch.

Life is the leap after the long look.

We are all entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of lunch.

It’s a matter of life or meth.

The good life has always been defined by good shelter, plenty of food and an indoor bathroom.

When love and truth kiss, life dances.

If life weren’t so scary, death wouldn’t make us so afraid.

Life is the loaded gun that we each use to shoot death between the eyes on everyday but one.

The only sin is to stop applauding.

When you stop gawking stop talking.

From certainty, we fashion the unscalable wall that prevents us from entering wonderland.

Adults ponder; children wonder.

The wise celebrate the dangerous possibilities skulking along the unguarded borders of uncertainty.

Mimesis singles out what symbolism doubles and mysticism triples.

Nothing is either boring or fascinating but thinking makes it so.

All women are wonder women; all good men wonder too.

The earth blushes through its makeup when we collect it.

Earth is God’s astonishing oeuvre.

Under the surface exists the superlative wonderful.

Wonder powers the scientific method.

Wonders favorite word is “Wow!”

My second favorite activity is complaining; my first is not.

Familiarity is the gift card we receive in every day’s mail.

Gratitude is the best antidepressant, applause the most effective analgesic.

We are fully alive when we can’t keep up before we applaud again.

Gratefulness is the delete key for hatefulness.

In the United States, Thanksgiving is the day we take off so that we can all work.

Wise eyes prize what fools despise.

Appreciation is a floatie for the psyche still learning to swim.

A thank you a day keeps the grouch at bay.

Every success is upsetting; every quite moment a gift.

Everyday I work in my gratitude garden; I weed my appreciatives, feed my approbatories, water my applaudables and cultivate my commendables.

Love untold is fool’s gold.

Souls are geodes; broken, still beautiful.

As soft as gold does love unfold.

Life stratifies; leaders uplift.

Sea snails sit on the peaks of the Himalayas, so the lowly may yet be lifted up.

Pressure forges diamonds; struggle anvils psyches.

The ancient wasp is preserved in amber, the departed in story.

As the ocean turns the hot lava solid, so struggle turns doubt to certainty.

Wise parents throw no stony judgments at the glass houses of their children.

Truth is the basalt of the soul.

Stones can crack our homes; words can rip them to pieces.

False promises are the stone soup of loving relationships.

The wise leave no stony emotion unturned.

Metamorphic rocks are formed by heat and pressure, emotional bonds by honesty and truth.

Off to college and off to class gives a girl health, wealth and sass.

What you don’t know can’t protect you.

School or drool.

A cognitive boot can teach an old coot a new hoot.

The value of modern education is that it affords the opportunity to master the fine art of procrastination.

Research papers were invented to punish teachers.

Exams test for knowledge; life tests for wisdom.

Schools train the mind; relationships train the heart.

Snobbery is just rudeness with a college education.

Personality is the tuxedo of the soul.

A psyche is a hearth, personality is its fire.

Personality is the secret sauce of success.

As a tsunami wave hides in the ocean, so a raging psyche hides in an ingratiating personality.

Personality makes the heart grow fonder; absence is what makes it wander.

With the bow, the arrow fire; the shy, the bold may yet inspire.

Affect is house paint — glossy, velvet and flat.

The wall flower will someday climb the wall.

Personality roots in well-watered friendships.

Play your ace of hearts; it always trumps a king or queen of diamonds.

Personality is proof that God loves variety.

Before nothingness there was a meeting.

You may believe in nothing but shower and dress anyway — we thank you.

Nihilism arrises when someone is so angry at something that they call it nothing.

Those who say they believe in nothing — still eat.

Something-ness per day keeps nothingness at bay.

The sunflower annilhilated nihilism.

The future arrives as nothing replaced by something.

Every claim we cannot prove excludes itself.

The nihilist eats ice cream and asks for more.

It matters that we ask, “What does it matter?”

You may believe in nothing but did you wake today?

Life is a tail, attached to a cat, full of fun, signifying something.

Wise by eyes; fools by rules.

There is one great rule to live by; we just can’t agree on what it is.

Rules require what visions inspire.

Rules are the magic wand by which we zap chaos into order — kind of.

Integrity lies in obeying the rules of sport when the umpire isn’t watching.

The rules that protect the ones we love may also crush them.

The hot bed of rules is irresponsibility.

Those who most pound the rules are usually those who most break them.

Parenting is the magic trick whereby a value is pulled out of a hat of rules.

Fungi thrive on decaying logs; rules sprout in rotten relationships.

First, rule thy self.

Rules don’t protect us from each other; following them does.

Wise judgments need no rules.

Love decimates all rules but itself.

A rule is a vicious assassin; it shoots nuanced thinking in the back of the head through a telescopic sight of over-simplification.

There is no place like home; everywhere else you can expect that people will be civil.

Home is where your pillow is.

Home in time saves the cat o’ nine.

Travel often; adventure home frequently.

Home is home sweet known.

Home is where you can cry and snot on somebody’s sleeve and not buy them a new shirt.

In a good home, no one is the door mat.

Home is where we grow our own.

The fears that thrive at home die abroad.

Go big and go to the hospital; after that you might go home.

A man’s home seems to him to be a castle, because he has never seen a castle.

Stretch marks the spot.

Spare the dad, spoil the child and be nice to the mom too.

To keep playing with toys, keep having children.

When the baby walks, the parents run.

Whining a pathogen, children vectors, parents hosts.

God made children cute to protect them from parents.

Every parent is grateful to whoever wired adolescence for obsolescence.

Parenting is the magic trick that turns rules into values.

Parenting is alchemy — base “no’s” into a precious” yes’s.”

Schools were invented by tired parents.

The ultimate goal of parents is not to nuture their children; it is to get them to move out.

Role reversal is payback.

Great greed creates great need.

To be responsible, start small — a cup of coffee and a must phone call.

When we become a responsible bunch, then hungry children won’t miss their lunch.

It is wondrfully responsible to care for the great terrestrial ball.

Responsibility begins with a cliche and ends with a touché.

Freedom is being responsible for nothing, but every single choice we make.

The difference between a responsible person and a irresponsible one is a difference no one should have to experience.

Take care of others by learning to care of yourself.

In an unjust world, silence is irresponsible.

Procrastination is efficient — eventually.

Responsibility needs a vacation.

Cleaning is symptomatic of an over-wraught optimism.

My second favorite activity is cleaning a sink drain; my first is having a colonoscopy.

Cleaning is like pi — it’s infinite.

Only prairie dogs, moles and children truly understand the comforts found in dirt.

It’s down-in-the-dirt kindness that’s actually next to godliness.

As the stream washes the mountain, so gentleness washes the soul.

Even dirt floors are swept.

Integrity is what stays clean when no one is looking.

Confession is laundry soap, forgivness fabric softener.

Pain is the surfactant of the soul.

When you clean your room, you may feel like you’ve ordered your soul — you haven’t.

Make it your rule to practice your drool.

A mistake packs two pistols — a consequence to blow your knee cap off and a regret to shoot you in the gut.

To error is human; to forgive humane.

A mistake a day keeps arrogance at bay.

It is the same mistake, getting into conflicts with people who insist on winning and getting into driving machines with no doors.

Make not the mistake of making no mistakes.

We ache for the mistake we didn’t make.

Sexual infidelity is no mistake; it is always done on purpose.

Those who say there are no misakes have never been on the wrong end of one.

Peanut butter goes with jelly, mistake with an apology.

Practice visible, egregious, embarrassing mistakes; they raise the public’s self-esteem and promote the education of children.

Don’t move, dynamite!

Sit, rot, move, do not.

Late in life, move to another country; it’s preparation.

Your friends are the people who help you move — the third time.

If someone aims at you, charge; if they fire, open your mouth; if they hit you spit the bullet out.

Sport is thought — in motion.

As a shadow follows the sun so one heart follows another.

The thing you won’t forget when you move is yourself.

Three things you should never move — a piano, a cow and an enemy.

The good life exits every corner accelerating.

A dog can easily learn to beg; a human being may find it almost impossible to learn to stop.

In the rubble of every disaster wanders a child in need of a beggar.

Beg often; ask to be made more generous.

In an unjust world, not begging on behalf of the starving is inappropriate.

Everyone begs; not everyone admits it.

At the end of begging lies the beginning of responsibility.

Con men always beg with the same lie; they only need enough to …

A beggar will give you the shirt off his back, and then beg for another.

Asking becomes begging  —  the third time.

Responsibility begs for proximity to poverty.

Only braggarts best beggars at begging.

Begging is not nothing asking someone for something; it is someone asking someone for some.

To beg is to confess to powerlessness; to give is to validate it.

Wisdom thinks with its gut and acts with its heart.

Interior wisdom accepts exterior faults.

For social healing, submit your soul to interior traction.

Look within to understand without

As marine fossils grace the peaks of the Alps, so gentleness graces the summit of maturity.

Human emotions are an app in need of a continual update.

Shame is a lion in an unlocked cage.

Congruity = interiority + exteriority².

The continent of the soul slides on a molten core of emotion.

Imagination colors our sketches; emotion fill in our thoughts.

There is no interiority, only reality crossing imaginary lines.

A compliment is just a lie, all dressed up in a suit and tie.

The most dangerous beguiles lie in our smiles.

Liars first fool themselves.

A pinch of mendacity, a dash of veracity, fool even those with the greatest sagacity.

Lies are the lipstick of social discourse.

Private lies hide within the wardrobes of public ceremonies.

The deceptions of leaders who lie in wait, do nothing for them when they lie in state.

To habitually lie, easy; to habitually tell the truth — impossible.

A high, a lie; a lie, a high.

Our lies over-estimate ourselves; they under-estimate others.

An exposed lie has all the grace and elegance of a DUI.

When we smile at our enemies, we harm ourselves.

Lies arrest what the truth bails out.

The most dangerous liars are those who are convinced they are telling the truth.

Disaffection’s indirection is the harmed soul’s predilection.

A lie is for the moment; a truth is for a lifetime.

To cure a liar takes a fire.

He who dies with the most toys will do the most cleaning up in heaven.

A toy is reality, with no claws.

Play heals us from work and work from a severe case of toys.

Imagination needs no toys.

Every boy would be a toy and every girl would take a twirl.

A stuffed animal becomes a pet, a doll becomes a baby,  and a toy soldier … a statistic.

We fly kites because we long to be birds.

Middle class children and middle class seniors have this in common — excessive toys.

The doll created gender.

The Chinese are Santa’s new elves.

Puzzles are fun, when they are won.

When we can no longer play with toys, we have begun to die.

Not deciding decides.

Not deciding puts on a straight jacket and jumps into a fast river.

Maturity owns what immaturity chose.

To whine is wine.

Action — it’s redaction.

Choose what you have.

To conquer is to destroy.

Ads thresh decisions.

Someone else may choose your fate, but you choose your response.

Dalliance is ephemeral; choosing is eternal.

To decide that there are no choices is to make a clear choice.
